Picklin’

I’ve always wanted to pickle… Anything. Didn’t matter what I was going to pickle, I just wanted to do it. When my friend Ilana told me she was lookin’ to pickle, I immediately took her up on her offer.

We decided not to go too crazy and just stick with the basics: Carrots, radishes, watermelon radishes and red onion.

The colors in the chopped watermelon radishes were unreal.

Once the veggies were cut, we filled our jars with our “homemade” pickling recipe. I’m going to be honest… We completely half-assed this. More than half-assed actually. Aside from some spices, herbs and vinegar, I had no idea what was going on.

Okay. We had to do something a little crazy. Four dozen quail eggs. Check.

Well, our pickled veggies and eggs sucked. I don’t think it’s as easy as I thought it would be.
